Dataro and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge 7 (RE7)

Dataro's RE7 integration requires installing the Dataro Agent directly on the server hosting the underlying SQL Server database. 

This utility is scheduled to run using Windows Task Scheduler. It handles querying the database, compressing the data and transferring to your account on Dataro's SFTP server. It will export data on a nightly basis and load predictions back into the system on a weekly basis. These are the steps the agent performs during each of these modes.

Export

• The Dataro Agent connects to your SQL Server
• Runs a number of SQL Queries and exports the results to zipped CSV files
• Connects to your account on Dataro's SFTP server
• Moves the zipped CSVs to the SFTP
• On Dataro's side, we are monitoring the SFTP and when we detect a complete set of files we will run our processes and produce a propensity file.

Import

• The Dataro Agent connects to your account on Dataro's SFTP server
• Looks for a new propensity file
• Moves the file to your server
• Loads the propensity file into a custom database table "dataro_propensities"
• Merges the changes from "dataro_propensities" table into the RE7 constituent_attributes table

Our preference is that Dataro performs the installation, setup and QA of the Dataro Agent and to do so we will need the following from your IT team:

• RDP / TeamViewer or similar access to the server that is running the Raiser's SQL Server db
• A Windows account to log on to that server
• A database user for the SQL Server (database username/password authentication, not Windows authentication) that has grants to select from every Raiser's table (or we can provide a subset) and can insert/update/delete on constituent attributes
• A Raiser's Edge user so we can perform some minor frontend configuration (setting up the new constituent attribute types).
