Step 1: Create an account for Dataro in NXT
- Create an 'Environment Admin' account for integrations@dataro.io
- We suggest you create a strong password using a tool like: https://passwordsgenerator.net/ and share the credentials using: https://passwordsgenerator.net/
Step 2: Determine if your environment is hosted on Blackbaud Hosting Services or Microsoft Azure

Once logged in to NXT, click on the Database in the top right corner. If you see only 1 option, you are on Brennan, if you see many options, you are on Azure.

Step 3: If your instance is on Blackbaud Hosting, you will need to add a new user in Blackbaud Hosting Services.
If you are unable to add a new user or run into any challenges, contact tim@dataro.io and we can provide support or arrange a workaround solution directly with Blackbaud. Additional instructions from Blackbaud available here.

Click the User Administration icon.

In the Template window, right-click the blank area below the list of users or to the right of the users and select New > User.

Enter the user's name: dataro + your Site ID (e.g., dataro12345)

Generate a suitably strong password using a tool like https://passwordsgenerator.net/

Enter the password and Click OK

Paste the password into a temporary text file

Right-click on the user you just added

Select "Add to a group..."

In the window that opens, type your Site ID followed by “-“. E.g., 12345-

Click "Check Names"

Select Admins group

Click OK to confirm the groups, then click OK again to finish.

Share the password with integrations@dataro.io using a secure method like https://onetimesecret.com/ and then delete the temporary text file.
Step 4: If your instance is on Blackbaud Hosting, you will need to add a new user in Raiser's Edge 7.

Log in as Supervisor or a user with Supervisor rights.

In Administration, click Security, New User.

In the User name field, enter dataro + your Site ID (e.g., dataro12345).

In the Group Assignments frame, mark Supervisor rights.

Generate a suitably strong password using a tool like https://passwordsgenerator.net/

In the Password Options frame, enter the new user's password

Paste the password into a temporary text file

Click Save and Close on the toolbar.

Share the password with integrations@dataro.io using a secure method like https://onetimesecret.com/ and then delete the temporary text file.
