Audiences: The Four Tabs
The four tabs on the Audiences page keep your own audiences, Dataro's audiences, and your CRM pushes separate.
The Audiences page has four tabs across the top. Audiences you build land in Saved or Tracked, and audiences Dataro built for you land in Dataro Audiences. CRM Queue is not an audience type: it is where you check whether a push made it into your CRM.
Open Audiences from the sidebar at app.dataro.io/v3 and all four tabs are visible along the top.
What each tab holds- Saved is your library of audiences you have built yourself. It holds dynamic, static and smart audiences, plus any .csv you have uploaded from an external system.
- Tracked is audiences with a goal attached. Instead of just a list, you define a starting cohort and a target outcome, and Dataro tracks how many donors convert over time.
- Dataro Audiences is the landing zone for audiences Dataro built for you, whether they came out of an insight on your homepage or out of a playbook.
- CRM Queue is the status board for your CRM pushes: queued, processing, success, or failed.
If you built it, it is in Saved or Tracked. If Dataro provides the logic, it is in Dataro Audiences. That distinction answers most questions about where an audience has gone.
Saved and Tracked are separate because they answer different questions. A saved audience answers who you should contact, and a tracked audience answers whether what you are doing is working. Both draw on the same donors, but they are used for different purposes.
How do I check that a CRM push worked? When a push does not land, the CRM Queue tab is where the reason is recorded. Here's how to check it:
- Push an audience to your CRM from wherever you are working.
- Open the CRM Queue tab on the Audiences page.
- Find your push in the list and read its status.
- If the status is Failed, click into the row to see the reason.
We recommend checking the queue before you check your CRM, because the failure reason is only written down here.
Frequently asked questions
I saved an audience and now I cannot find it. Where do I look?
Start on the Audiences page under the Saved tab, which holds everything you built yourself. If you attached a goal to it, it will be on Tracked instead. If it came from an insight or a playbook rather than from your own filters, look in Dataro Audiences.
Can an audience appear in more than one tab?
The tabs are organized by how an audience came into being and what you attached to it, so an audience has one home.
Is CRM Queue a list of audiences?
No. It is a list of push events, so the same audience can appear several times if you have pushed it more than once. Read it as a history of attempts, not as a library.
Do I need to check CRM Queue every time I push?
Not every time, but we recommend it on anything time-sensitive. A failed push is silent from inside your CRM, so the queue is the only place the failure reason is written down.
Which tab should I be in most of the week?
For most fundraisers it is Saved when building and Dataro Audiences when following up on what Dataro surfaced. Tracked is usually opened at reporting moments rather than daily.
