[Building Audiences](https://support.dataro.io/knowledge/audience-building?hsLang=en#building-audiences) # What is Audience Builder and how do I use it? ## Audience Builder allows you to quickly and easily create and segment audiences from within your Dataro account   ![AB1](https://support.dataro.io/hs-fs/hubfs/AB1.gif?width=688&height=328&name=AB1.gif) With Audience Builder, you can quickly build tailored lists directly within your Dataro account using a variety of filters. Once you have built your audience, you may take a variety of actions, including saving the list, sharing it with a team member, exporting it, or pushing it to an integrated platform, such as your CRM, email marketing platform, or an online advertising platform. ### Audience Filters Dataro has built a variety of filters to allow you to easily query your donor base based on different criteria.  ![AB2](https://support.dataro.io/hs-fs/hubfs/AB2.gif?width=688&height=328&name=AB2.gif) #### Filtering with "and" statements When you select multiple filters for an audience they act as an "and" statement in which both criteria must be true for a donor to appear in the list. For instance, in the example below, we create a list of donors who have both a high mail appeal rank *and* have also donated a gift of more than $100 in the past 30 days. As you narrow your list with additional "and" filters, you will see the total number of contacts decrease in the overview panel on the right. ![AB and](https://support.dataro.io/hs-fs/hubfs/AB%20and.gif?width=688&height=328&name=AB%20and.gif) #### Filtering with "or" statements Adding an "or" statement allows you to include multiple groups of contacts in one list by filtering for contacts meet *at least one* of your selected criteria. As shown in the example below, this includes queries such as "any contacts with a high mail appeal ranking who have also given more than $100 in the past 30 days" *or *"any contacts who have clicked on 2 emails in the past 5 days."  As you expand your list with additional "or" filters, you will see the total number of contacts increase in the overview panel on the right. ![AB OR](https://support.dataro.io/hs-fs/hubfs/AB%20OR.gif?width=688&height=328&name=AB%20OR.gif) For more detailed information on filtering your list check out our articles on [adding](https://support.dataro.io/knowledge/adding-an-additional-segment-to-an-audience?hsLang=en) or [excluding](https://support.dataro.io/knowledge/removing-or-excluding-a-segment-from-an-audience?hsLang=en) specific donor segments from an audience. ### Audience Columns **Columns** allows you to add new fields to the table view of your audience and your final export file. You can easily pick and choose which columns to include and then reorder the columns based on how you want the export file to look.  ![AB columns](https://support.dataro.io/hs-fs/hubfs/AB%20columns.gif?width=688&height=299&name=AB%20columns.gif) ### Audience Actions Once you're happy with the filters you've selected for your audience, there are multiple actions available. You can: 1. [Save the audience](https://support.dataro.io/knowledge/saving-audiences-and-using-saved-audiences?hsLang=en) to your "Saved Audiences" folder, for future use. 2. [Download/export the list](https://support.dataro.io/knowledge/exporting-an-audience-from-dataro?hsLang=en), for manual upload to another platform. 3. Share the list with a colleague via email. 4. [Subscribe to the list](https://support.dataro.io/knowledge/saving-audiences-and-using-saved-audiences?hsLang=en) (Manage notifications) to receive email alerts when new contact have qualified for your audience parameters. 5. [Publish the list](https://support.dataro.io/knowledge/publishing-an-audience-to-your-crm?hsLang=en) directly to your CRM *(only for Salesforce and NXT users)*, which will create a new campaign in your CRM with these donors as campaign members. 6. [Push the list](https://support.dataro.io/knowledge/pushing-an-audience-to-digital-advertising-platforms-facebook-or-google-ads?hsLang=en) directly to your Facebook or Google Ads account to begin an advertising campaign. 7.
