Saving an audience makes it easy to track and report on donor behavior over time, run follow-up or repeat campaigns, and more.
Creating Saved Audiences
Understanding static and dynamic audiences
- A static audience will save the specific set of donors that match your filter criteria. If you access this audience later, it will always show you that exact set of donors.
- A dynamic audience will save the filter criteria themselves, rather than the specific set of donors. If you access this audience later, it will show you whichever donors now meet the criteria.
Saving a static audience
Saving a static audience is particularly useful when you want to run multiple follow-up campaigns to the same set of donors, or when you want to track the behavior of a certain set of donors over time in order to determine the impact of your outreach.- Once you have built an audience, select “Save Audience” from the list view.
- Name your audience
- Select the “Save as a static audience” option to save the specific set of donors that currently match your filter criteria.
Saving a dynamic audience
Saving a dynamic audience is particularly helpful when you want to track the changes of a certain program or category of donors over time, such as an increase in donors who meet the criteria for midlevel program qualification, or a decrease in donors who gave last year but have not yet given this year (LYBUNT). Dynamic audiences are also great if you want to build campaigns in advance, so you can simply access the audience when the time comes to run your activity.
- Once you have built an audience, select “Save Audience” from the list view.
- Unless you select the “Save as a static audience” option, your audience will automatically be saved as a dynamic list, meaning that the size of the list will fluctuate as donor actions qualify or disqualify them from your filter criteria.
Uploading a Saved Audience from an external platform
You can also upload audiences built in your CRM or other platforms as Saved Audiences in Dataro. You have two options for uploading an external list as a Saved Audience.
