What Dataro 3.0 does
Dataro 3.0 turns a prediction into a campaign that is ready for action
Dataro's models rank who is most likely to give, who is likely to lapse, and who is ready to upgrade. In Dataro 3.0, each of those predictions arrives with the next action already prepared: the audience is built, the donor journey is written, and the campaign is ready to send.
You will find it at app.dataro.io/v3.
What Dataro 3.0 is built aroundEverything in 3.0 traces back to three things: sharper insights, better prioritization, and the next actions to take, using the data you already have.
-
Sharper insights means Dataro tells you what your data is showing, not only what has already happened.
-
Better prioritization means Dataro takes a view on which of those findings matter most this week, rather than handing you a ranked file and leaving the triage to you.
-
The next actions to take means the campaign assembly work between knowing who to ask and getting the ask into market now happens inside Dataro.
None of this requires you to buy new data or run a new collection exercise. Dataro works on the giving history already sitting in your CRM.
What 3.0 changesPredicting who is going to give has never been the slow part of a fundraiser's week. The slow part is everything after the prediction: turning it into an audience, writing the journey, pulling the list, researching the donor, and getting all of it into your CRM. That work is spread across several tools and it takes up a large share of the week.
In 3.0 the prediction does not stop at a ranked list. From the moment you log in to a campaign live in your CRM, it is one guided flow.
Key termsThese terms have specific meanings in Dataro.
- Donor is an individual or organization that has given a donation.
- Contact is any individual or organization in your database, whether or not they have given. Dataro uses "contact" where a count includes people who have not given, e.g. the total number of contacts in an audience.
- Score is a raw value from 0.0 to 1.0 approximating the probability that a donor takes a given action, such as making a donation. It is the model's own output, unrounded.
- Rank is the number of contacts with a higher score, plus one. Rank 1 is the donor most likely to take the action. Rank is usually the easier number to work with, because it tells you directly how deep into your file you are reaching.
- Insight is an observation with an action attached, e.g. that a group of donors is ready for a mid-level gift. Insights are what the homepage leads with.
- Audience is a set of contacts defined by filter criteria. You can save it, attach a goal to it, and push it to your CRM.
- Playbook is the container for a piece of fundraising work. It covers campaigns, such as Run an appeal, and ongoing programs, such as Grow your mid-level tier.
- Log in at app.dataro.io/v3. The homepage opens with four tabs across the top, each matching a different starting point.
- Act on Insights shows what Dataro recommends working on today. Dataro surfaces between one and five insights a day, so there is always something waiting and never a full page of them.
- Research donors surfaces top donor prospects to steward right now based on rankings, or conduct additional research via ProspectAI.
- Playbooks is where to go if you already know which campaign you want to run.
- Build an Audience is where to go if you already know exactly who you want and would rather filter your way there directly.
- Review what Dataro has assembled. Audiences Dataro built for you appear on the Dataro Audiences tab of the Audiences page, so nothing disappears while you decide.
- Push the audience to your CRM, then check the CRM Queue tab to confirm it landed.
Frequently asked questions
Does this replace the predictive models I rely on?
No. Dataro 3.0 runs the same predictive models, organized around what you do with the prediction. Every audience you save is available on the Audiences tab.
How do scores and ranks work here?
A score is the raw probability from the model, and a rank is the position that score gives a donor relative to everyone else. To decide which insights to surface on a given day, Dataro compares your donors against the wider Dataro data set, but that comparison happens behind the scenes and does not change any score or rank you see.
Do I have to follow the guided flow?
No. We recommend it for most weeks because it saves time, but Build an Audience is always available if you would rather filter from scratch and skip the suggestions.
How often does the underlying data change?
Predictions refresh weekly. Insights refresh daily across a five-day work week, so there is something new each weekday.
