Launching and Tracking your Direct Mail Campaign

Once you've built your audience, it is time to launch your campaign! Here's how to finish the process and track your results.

Add Ask Amounts to your ask ladder / gift matrix

Most nonprofits can improve their average gift size and total campaign return by adopting Dataro’s Ask Amount suggestion as the base ask in their ask ladder / gift matrix. To ensure that Ask Amounts are included in your mail file:

  • From your list, click ‘Columns’
  • Ensure ‘Ask Amount’ is selected as a column

Saving and exporting your audience

  • Once you're happy with your audience selection and the columns included in your file, save your list as either a static or dynamic audience. When choosing a name for your Saved Audience, it is helpful to include the campaign name + date to avoid later confusion.
  • Review the Columns included in your list to ensure that all the data you need will be included in your export.
  • Export your audience to your CRM or download it as a CSV.
    • Note: Export to CRM is not available for all CRMs. 

Tracking campaign performance

Once your campaign has been launched and your donors have responded, you can also use Dataro to easily track and analyze your appeal's performance.

  • From the Saved Audiences page, select your chosen audience and click "Audience Summary"
  • Click the ‘Take Action’ button and select ‘Open in CI’ to open the audience in Campaign Insights
